Issue # 26: Oliver Orchard Equipment

Since we've been talking about an Oliver orchard tractor in this issue, it's only fitting we talk about some of the orchard implements manufactured by Oliver.

The No.92 Orange plow was a light, wood-beam walking plow designed for shallow orchard work. It cut a furrow eleven inches wide and was shaped to turn under orchard grass. This model must have been designed for use in the orange groves, thus the name "orange plow".

There were many different implements made for orchard us throughout the years. One of those was the No. 17-A Gang plow. This plow was suitable for use in either the vineyard of the orchard. The land wheel was equipped with a very short hub cap so you could plow right up to the trees or vines. If you needed to do field plowing, the land whell axle could be extended for fieldwork.
