| News Title | Issue # 28: El Toro! THE BULL |
| With the trend turning toward the larger series of tractors, more people are becoming fascinated by a model that has come to be known to many as El Toro. However, there is a bit of misunderstanding where this model is concerned. Most collectors think that if a tractor has Terra Tires on it, that it makes it an El Toro model. However, this is not the case. In 1964, Oliver attended the US National Exposition held in Mexico City. The export division was well-represented at this demonstration. In order to present a model that would be the icon of a massive animal, oliver tagged their 4-wheel drive models "El Toro". In Spanish the translation of El Toro is "the bull". Tractors sent to Latin America and equipped with 4-wheel drive, also had the decal EL TORO on the side panels, starting in 1964. There was nothing unique about the tractors other than 4-wheel drive. The EL TORO model cam in three different sizes: 1900, 1800 and 1600. To learn more on the El Toro order Issue #28 |
